Ram Charan is a well-known guru of the economy. His famous career began from the bottom working in a family shoe shop in the small town he was born in India. He worked in different places as Australia or Hawaii before he obtained a MBA and a doctorate degrees from Harvard Business School.

He has been consulted from many important companies as Verizon, Novartis, Dupont, Thomson Corporation, Verizon, Novartis, Dupont, Thomson Corporation,KLM or Bank of America, and nowadays he is one of the most valorated business advisor. He is the author of some books, included the bestseller 'Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done and Confronting Reality' and he is also the author of some articles appeared in the Financial Times, Harvard Business Review, Director's Monthly, and Strategy and Business.


¨Leadership in the era of economic uncertainty - The new rules for getting the right things done in difficult times¨ is a book written by the economist Ram Charan. The book is about how Chad Holliday, Dupont's CEO, face the global crisis when he felt that the crisis was arriving. His first reaction was called all his company leaders and try to find the depth of the crisis. After that, he devise a plan for the company based on asking the company employees about how they could reduce cost and keep cash. The employees replied Holliday´s plan in a good way and DuPont carry out a plan consisted of save the maximum possible cash and reduce cost as soon as the company could. In less than 6 weeks the company was ready for the coming crisis. The text also emphasizes the fluent relation that Holliday had at anytime with all DuPont's new 'Corporate crisis'.

In conclusion, Mr. Chaman tries to show with his book how a leader has to act when a crisis come taking as example DuPont´s case and specially his CEO, Mr. Holliday whose highlight atributes Mr. Chaman exposes on his book.
